Halloween | Cartoon Face

Halloween looks aren't really my thing. I love the idea of them, I love reading about them but when it comes to me actually doing it.. well.. that's another story. I think its because I'm not actually very skilled at doing makeup. Don't get me wrong, I love doing my makeup but I'm not actually very good at it. This look was no exception.. I really wasn't very happy with it and now looking at the pictures all I can think is what I could have done better.

The white dots are very un-dot like and not consistent in colour. The tear drop lines are way too thick and just look rubbish. The eyebrows are not in proportion or clean cut lines. The lip line is terrible and so very messy. My list could go on and now I've told you everything wrong with it. OOPS. Anyway with time fast running out and a promised Halloween colab with the lovely India from Touchscreens & Beautyqueens I decided to go ahead and use these images anyway.

For the base I have my usual face makeup. The MUA primer, W7 foundation and Collection sheer loose powder. Then I took a white face paint that I got from Tesco and using a cotton bud, dotted the dots all over my face. Although this is a lengthy process, it's obviously essential that you do it and take your time! I then used a black eye liner to do the brows, tear drops and lip line. I used any liner I could find but I would say to use a thin one as it looks much better! On my eyes I used a Makeup Rev pigment with the Aqua Seal to make it look even bolder and on my lips is a Makeup Rev matte lip crayon in a bright red.

As I mentioned this is a colab with the lovely India who has created this amazing skull look. You can find her look by clicking here. Go and show her some luuuurve!!

Makeup Revolution - Colour Chaos | Review

I'll put my hands up *lady with hands up emoji*. I have had this palette for a few months now and I've been very naughty not posting about it. Why? you ask. Well.. this is going to sound mad but the only reason I have been sitting on it is because I hated the pictures. I'm not trying to make excuses (because we all know I'm queen of excuses) but that's the gods honest truth. This post originally had about 5 images and slowly, whiles this post has been sitting in my drafts for however many months I've deleted picture by picture. I've ended up with this 1 picture that I'm still not completely happy with but after a chat with a blogging friend today she told me it was fine and to post it anyway.. and my apologies to the lovely Makeup Rev team, sorry I'm slacking.

This palette is another cracker by Makeup Rev. Although the colours might look a bit daunting, they can actually be used easily. I don't think I'll be using the bright green on a daily basis but some of the colours on this palette could come in handy if you need to make some whacky look. However there are colours in it that you could use on a daily. I love the purples and I think I will be using them at some point this Autumn. There is also a gorgeous emerald green which will be another lovely one to use.

As every Makeup Rev shadows, the colours are amazingly pigmented. Use a primer and they pop even more. Some of the colours won't be to everyones taste but for the grand old fee of just a few quid, it's 100% a palette to have in your collection as you never know when you might need it. I've played around with this palette quite a lot and it's as gorgeous as it looks, trust me. I'm going to do some looks using this very soon as I want to start doing looks again on here. What colours would you like to see used?

Are you a fan of Makeup Rev? Do you have a crazy palette?

Maybelline Color Tattoo | Review

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe | Metallic Pomegranate both £4.99

These are old news, I know. But as you all well know by now I am not one to follow trends and I'll get something when I decide that I want it.. hence this post going up now. These have been so raved about in the beauty world, I'm not sure why it took me so long to purchase them but hey I've finally done it. Maybelline had a 3 for 2 on and whiles I really wanted to get something there wasn't actually anything I needed, so my best friend Amelia said 'what is one thing you've wanted to get for a while but haven't?' so I chose these. My local Boots didn't have a huge range of colours (except for bright blue and purple) so I picked up the two that looked most wearable.

I quickly posted on Twitter asking how people use these. I wasn't sure if you used a finger, a brush, if they blended well, if you could use other shadows with them etc. I got a huge response. Some people said they preferred to use fingers and some people said that they used brushes if they wanted to pack it on heavily. Firstly the Permanent Taupe colour. In the pan it looks very grey, on the eye it's a dark brown but it is very grey toned. It's a matte colour and the 'science' behind these are amazing.. I mean how can you make a CREAM eyeshadow so very pigmented and either matte or shimmery?!

Next Metallic Pomegranate. This has been highly rated as the 'Autumn eye colour you NEED to have' and I can see why. It is a gorgeous red and the shimmer just makes it gorgeous. I haven't yet tried to use this with other colours, I've worn it on its own though and I can tell you it's lovely. They are £4.99 in Boots and Superdrug although you can find them cheaper online. If you've not already got your hands on some of these, I suggest you do so quickly. I can easily see why these are so raved about.

What do you think of these? Have you tried them? What colours do you have?

#ZoellaBeauty

Zoella Beauty - Superdrug

After initially moaning on Twitter about all the Zoella Beauty posts that I thought would be coming, here I am with one myself. Shoot me. (or let me explain..)

It happens a lot in the beauty blogging world. A product comes out and you see 50,00000 posts about them. For example: Tanya Burr Lips & Nails. Admittedly the products were good, I did like the lip glosses and my mum did like the nail varnishes however I honestly couldn't tell you how many posts I saw/read about them. If you know me I do a lot of commenting. I spend an AWFUL lot of time commenting, hours and hours every day. I really enjoy it, what I don't enjoy is commenting on the same post a thousand times.. So I bit my tongue and carried on commenting but in the end I was just clicking 'mark as read' on the BlogLovin' posts. Sorry not sorry.

Anyway back to my first point; I wasn't going to buy anything from the range, nor was I planning on posting about it but I'm actually surprised at how little has been said about the products. *note* this could be a long post. Apologising in advance.

The first day they were released I headed on to Superdrug to buy some bits just for the sake of it. I actually don't know why because I am NEVER one to follow trends.. I wont buy a product because I've seen rave reviews on it. I wont buy a product because its just been released and I want to be cool. I guess as I've watched and admired Zoe for such a long time I just wanted to be in on the action. Superdrug sold out within the first few hours and baring in mind the only 2 things I wanted (the candle and fizz bar) were going out of stock so quickly every time they re stocked, I gave up. I heard that they were selling it on Feel Unique so I headed over there.... only to find they had marked up each product by about £3. The stubborn monster inside me didn't want to pay this plus whatever P&P would be so I didn't bother.

Fast forward 1 week. Shopping in town, popped into my local Superdrug (how many times can I say Superdrug in 1 post?!) and I see my mum just standing down an isle pointing. Yes, you guessed it!! #ZoellaBeauty in MY store. The store that I genuinely think would win smallest store of the year award!!! They had everything in stock so before even thinking about it I had paid for the candle and fizz bar. Brilliant.

When I got home I was analysing my purchases and remembered I had bought the products and here is where I get serious. If you're still reading well done.

Zoella Fizz Bar from Superdrug *currently out of stock*
We all know Zoe's love of Lush so I was really excited to try this. You get 8 big squares and obviously they are meant to fizz (clues in the title). Now, this might be because I haven't read up about it but I'm not sure if its meant to make bubbles, make your bath feel nice or what its actually supposed to do but I cant say much happened. It turned my bath very cloudy and didn't exactly have any kind of desired effect. I hate the smell. I'm not actually sure what I'd say it smells like but I really didn't like it. My mum commented on how nice the bathroom smelt (because of the fizz bar) but I guess some people would like it, it just so happened I didn't.. I would say you need to smell it for yourself and make your own mind up. I will use the rest of the squares up but mainly for the sake of not wasting product, not because I love them and I want to use them again. Majorly disappointed.

Zoella Let's Glow Candle from Superdrug *currently out of stock*
This is another huge meh. It's a candle. A candle is a candle by my standards and being that I hate the smell I cant say I'll get a huge use of of this at all. It's pretty looking, they all have lovely packaging don't get me wrong but this is a bog standard candle. Quite expensive really for what it actually is (it's quite small) and I would much prefer to get myself some Yankee Candle tarts for my burner. If I didn't really dislike the smell I think that I would have used this up then used the pot for some kind of storage but I don't even want to burn it. I think my mum can finish that one for me. Disappointed again.

I definitely think that these products are a huge 'try it yourself to find out' and they are very affordable so they wont be breaking anybody's bank. I'm so sad I don't like the products as I had very high expectations. I think when 'big' YouTubers/Bloggers release products it's easy to say 'this product is amazing' to go with the majority and to obviously support these people. I think what Zoe has done is amazing and I still think she is a huge inspiration to me and millions more but I just didn't enjoy her product range. As I say, please don't let this post put you off. You need to try them for yourself because only you can make your mind up, this was just my opinion.

Thank you very very much for reading if you've got this far you are a champion!!

Have you tried #ZoellaBeauty? What did you think? Send me any review links!

Lush Creamy Candy | Bubble Bar

When I started my blog I half promised myself I would never be the same as every other Lush/Mac fanatic blogger. I own 1 mac lipstick and I hate it. I have never really dabbled in Lush either and I know, I know.. you've probably completely changed your opinion of me by those few sentences and I won't blame you for unfollowing. Without going into too much detail, I simply don't like Mac because I think you can get it for a lot cheaper in other brands. But why haven't I dabbled too much in Lush?

I think the only 1 reason I can think of is because there isn't one near me. Saying that, I placed an online order last night (would you like to see posts about Christmas Lush stuff?) however it cost over £6 to send which in the grand scheme of things isn't a huge amount of money I know, but my just over £10 order quickly became £20 with VAT & P&P and it can be off putting.

I read so many blogs and watch so many YouTubers that are huge Lush fans although I never really knew what my 'thing' would be. By 'thing' I mean people like certain things.. some people are bath bomb fans, some are cleaners etc. I can now officially say mine is bubble bar's.

The idea fascinated me!! A BAR that creates BUBBLES?! Cannot be true!! When I went to Cambridge for my 18th birthday recently I made it my mission to find a bubble bar. Lush isn't expensive at all but I wanted to get something cheap so if I hated it I wouldn't be out of pocket. At £2.75 for this, its loose change that you won't miss in a hurry! I have been through 4 of these since.

I don't use much because this is a huge case of 'a little goes a long way'.. I personally get about 3/4 baths out of 1 bar but it could easily do a lot more. It has a sweet candy floss smell which is lovely and really stinks out your bathroom. My mum even commented that she could still smell it on my skin the day after. The bar is filled with chunks of pure almond and cocoa butter which honestly makes the skin SO nice.

I have really really been enjoying this recently and it is defo my no.1 September fave! My Christmas Lush order consisted of lots of bubble bars so let me know if you want to see some posts including those! I am officially no longer a Lush hater. Yay me.

Whats your fave lush product? Do you like bubble bars?
