MUA: Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder

A few months ago I would not stop raving about MUA products and how much I ADORED them. Nothing had changed. I may have stopped mentioning MUA as much on my blog but let me tell you, I still love them the same. Just one thing has changed. I have been completely skint for the past few months so I have bought not 1 single thing. My mum got me a mascara last week but that has literally been the only makeup item I've bought in at least 2 months. I don't know how I've managed!

I was doing my makeup the other day and remembered: this highlighter is one I use every day, and I don't THINK I've ever mentioned it on my blog, which is surprising considering how much I love it!

At £3, even if you used it a few times you can't be disappointed. I mean, just look at it. In all its glory!! Just the right amount of shimmer, glitz and highlighter all in one. The first few times I wore it my manager would point it out all the time, telling me how lovely it looked so I knew it was a keeper!

As I said I have used this pretty much every day for about 3 months now and as you can see, the pan hasn't dipped much at all which I'm super happy about. There is so much product and you really only need a tiny bit to achieve something lovely! I would defiantly re buy this, again and again but at this rate I won't need to for another year! Go and get one! Go, go, GO!!!

Have you tried this highlighter? Are you going to get one?

HOW TO: Glitter Lips

After I recently posted about a makeup look I had to do for a college project, most of the comments consisted of 'please do a tutorial', 'what products did you use?!' and mostly 'how do you do that to your lips!'.. Well, the answer is sooo simple you'll probably kick yourself after I tell you.

I remembered about it because a girl I work with does this all the time, and I asked her ages ago (thinking it was so special product like you all probably did!) but I was shocked by what she said. Crafting glitter.

Yes, ordinary every day crafting glitter! I couldn't believe it. I completely forgot about it but when I had to do this project I remembered about it. Let me explain (imagine the paper is lips!!):

Take a lipstick of your choice. (Can be any colour but I chose a colour similar to my glitter colour). Apply the lipstick.

Add the glitter over the top.
DONE.

Can you believe it?!?! I was sooo shocked! I thought she had probably forked out loads of money on special products but no, it was something I had in my house all along!! BUT I will just say before I get a load of comments probably telling me its unsafe.. I did this for a college project. I'm not sure about the health side of it, but to be honest I can't see there would be much of a problem doing it!

It looks so cool and is perfect for every day or night time looks! Try it! Let me know if you do!

Have you ever thought of doing this?!

Swarovski Aura perfume set*

How gorgeous are these bottles?!?!
I recently won Michelle from TSNC big blog giveaway which meant I won nearly £600 worth of prizes! I was sooo super excited when I won because its my first winning! A huge chunk of the prizes are coming from her directly but some of them came from different brands. I was going to do one big post about everything but as I'm receiving things every day (it seems!) I was couldn't wait and wanted to do separate posts.

I received this yesterday from The London Perfume Company who sent me this Aura by Swarovski* gift set. It includes 4 miniature versions of the Aura set. I have slight confession. I can't actually work out how to open them so I haven't actually smelt them yet, BUT I'm absolutely in love with the packaging!!! Its soooo nice. The colours are gorgeous and the actual bottles are so lovely.

"Swarovski Aura is a sophisticated fragrance which captures the beauty and luminosity of Swarovski crystals. It begins with sweet top notes of lychee and rose and dries to a heart of white tuberose. It finishes with base notes of amber, benzoin, pink pepper and white musk which add a warm aspect to the floral scent. Its elegant composition of feminine aromas reflects the timeless, incandescent quality of crystals and makes it perfect for all occasions. This fabulous miniature set makes it easy to carry your favourite fragrance around with you through the day, and is perfect for a cheeky top up on a night out."

Thank you to Rosie at The London Perfume Company who I spoke to and was very lovely!

Have you tried these perfumes? What do you think of the packaging?

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes makeup look

This is the makeup look I mentioned on yesterdays post that you can read here. Its done using the Rimmel London Glam'Eyes quad that I picked up from Poundland. I have followed the instructions that were on the back, although it does kind of look like I've just put heavy shimmer all over my lids. I would defiantly say this is an everyday/day time occasions makeup look and I wouldn't wear this at night time. You might also notice that I have liquid liner on!! Wheeyyy. This is a very rare occurrence buuutttt I'm happy to say I'm quite pleased with how I've put it on today so might start wearing it more.

Have you tried the Rimmel Londom Glam'Eyes quad? How did you find it?

Rimmel @ Poundland?!

This post is well overdue as this quad has been sitting in my draw just waiting to be photographed for some weeks now. Myself and my boyfriend went into Poundland a few weeks ago to get some sweets however whenever I go in there I always make sure I have a look at the makeup section. Most of it is a bit rubbish but occasionally they have random bits and on this day, it was a lucky random find day.

I found this Rimmel London Glam'Eyes quad. Mine is 018 'Romantic Cool'. It doesn't take a genuius to work out it was a whole, huge, massive, whopping £1!!! I have since looked online and if you click on the link above, they retail at £6.99 so this was a HUGE find and although I wasn't all that amazed by it, I still can't believe it was £1!! They also had loads of the HD Eyeshadow palettes but they only had those in bright blue which didn't really interest me. They also had tiny tubes of the ever famous 'wake me up' but it didn't actually say what the product was or the colour so I left these.

I have a makeup look using this quad coming tomorrow so look out for that!

Have you found any good makeup in Poundland?

Boy dressing

Tee - Dirty Velvet*
Jeans - Topshop Leigh
Shoes - White Vans (very old and worn!!)
Black Blazer - Topshop
Red Satchel - Topshop

I was recently contacted by the lovely guys over at Dirty Velvet clothing to see if I would like to have one of their tees to feature on my blog. Of course I said yes and you probably all know my fave dress code is jeans and tee. They have loads of really cool designs, but I went for this one which is called 'The Birds'. I chose to get it in white although you can get it in blue too. These t-shirts are all mens but I went for S (I think?) and it fit lovely. Maybe slightly oversized but who cares, it looks better!

My boyfriend got a top too but the pictures I took for him were rubbish, so I've decided I'm going to do a separate post all about his t-shirt. Look out for that soon! Thanks to my bestie Amelia for taking these photos for me. Took so many pictures and only got a few!! As you can see it was very windy!

WIND!!!!!!

Which Dirty Velvet tee would you go for?

the makeup mishaps tag

I recently saw that Becca from Becca's Fashion and Life had gone all techy and created her own tag! Its called 'The Makeup Mishaps Tag' and although I don't often do tags, I really liked this one and thought I'd do it myself. Hope you don't mind!!

You're going to a high end beauty event - would you rather:

Have really thick, dark, sharpie eyebrows or a major neck/foundation line?
Defo thick, dark, sharpie eyebrows! I have dark and mega thick eyebrows (no, not through over doing it, naturally believe it or not!) so this is something I'm quite used to. Who on earth would want a foundation line?!

Have chipped nail polish or horribly faded lipstick?
Chipped nail polish. Heres a little secret i'm not sure if I've mentioned before: I bite my nails. I don't EVER wear nail polish, so chipped nails is really something I wouldn't care about!

Have smudged all your eye make up or have lipstick on your teeth?
I would have to say lippy on the teeth. Simply because that can sometimes go unnoticed, and if your lucky you wouldn't be wearing a bright colour!

Over highlight - a la disco ball - or over pluck those brows and look constantly surprised?
A la disco ball. It would be a tricky task to over pluck my brows as it is, so i'd defiantly go with over highlight.

It's a typical working/school day, and unfortunately your beauty products have gone missing. You can only find a few things hidden at the bottom of your makeup bag, and have to use what you can find. What do you choose?

OTT unsubtle fake lashes or clear mascara?
OTT unsubtle fake lashes! I'm all about the hugeeee lashes and although I could probably get away with wearing clear mascara, I'd rather my lashes to be huge!

A foundation five shades too dark or five shades too light?
Dark. I'm olive skinned so pale would just look absolutely ridiculous! Plus I'm on the darker shades of foundation anyway!

Hair-gloss (a beautifully sticky gloss: perfect for getting your hair stuck to in the wind) or gorgeous concealer lips?
Hate to say it but gorgeous concealer lips! Theres absolutely nothing I hate more than getting your hair stuck in glossy lips, thats actually one of the reasons I don't wear gloss!!

Finally, it's the middle of summer - you can have either a manicure or a pedicure. However, the other set of nails have to be bare - what do you pick?
Manicure obvs. I don't care about feet. Feet are ugly! Why would you even look at them?!

I tag everyone!!

Primark S/S 2014 collection

IT'S HEREEEE. Primark Spring/Summer 2014 collection has been officially released (although I could be very late on this as when I was researching I found a post from a week ago but with different images. Can anyone confirm what has been released today?!)

I think I'm one in many that get excited for the Primark releases, mainly because of how on point Primark always are but also the prices aren't too bad either, are they ;-). It's no secret in the blogging/anywhere world that they are very popular and this collection will be no different I can assure you.

This collection is filled with pastels and prints which you can see from the pictures above. These are some of my favourite pieces that I've seen so far but I'm sure there are loads more to come! I absolutely love everything but mainly the bikini in the top image, and I can honestly 100% say I would wear everything from the bottom row (with a bit of gym work thrown in too!).

I don't have a Primark close to me but I can feel that I need to take a little trip just to get some of these.

Have you seen Primark's S/S collection? Do you like it?!

Mascaras I wouldn't repurchase

Some controversial ones here. As I always mention (yeah, I know you're probably bored of me saying!!) I use A LOT of mascara, probably more than pretty much anyone I've seen whiles blogging. I always have done since I've known what mascara is and I personally love the 'spidery' lashes. These are all mascaras I would defiantly not re-buy for whatever reason.

Rimmel Rockin' Curves* - I received this from the lovely Helena in our valentines box swap. She got it for me because she was really curious as to how it worked.. Well, Helena, its rubbish. I have seen reviews on this and the majority really liked it which makes me think maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have tried to use this again and again and I just really don't like it. It doesn't do ANYTHING for me at all and I'm really not a fan.

Maybelline Rocket Mascara - I found this lurking at the back of my mums huge makeup draw still unopened. I thought I would give it a go as I couldn't see her using it any time soon. Oh boy, how I wish I didn't bother! This was the most POINTLESS mascara I have ever used. Absolutely NO product came off the brush and it genuinely didn't even look like I had used a thing on my lashes. I would stay away from this at all costs and I would never ever use it again. Not even if I had completely run out! That's how unimpressed I am!!

Collection No Clumps Mascara - I got this free in one of those 'spend over such and such and get this free'. Because its free I can't exactly slate it, but its no good really. I have tried to use it on a few different occasions but it doesn't work for me. That's not to say it might not work for someone else!

NYC Big Bold Mascara - I'm not 100% sure how I got this because I'm pretty cert I didn't buy it myself. The reason I think this is because it isn't the type of brush I would go for. I love thin brushes not thick ones because I just don't think they work very well (for me, anyway!). This mascara just didn't work. But then again, I did have a feeling it wouldn't!

Benefit 'They're Real' - ha, this is the real controversial one. Firstly, the price would put me off buying it again anyways. My mum got me this for Christmas and although its not BAD and I would use it again if it got bought for me, I wouldn't buy it myself. In my opinion, it does exactly the same as my all time fave NYC mascara and if I wore one on each eye you probably wouldn't be able to even tell the difference. The price for the size you get is insane and considering how quickly I use mascaras, this would be pointless to spend so much!

What mascara wouldn't you repurchase?
