the winter/christmas tag | daisydaisyxxo

I took this tag from Almost Alices' blog, although I have seen it on many more! Although I hate winter, I LOVE the novelty of the whole jumpers, hot drinks, cuddles in bed! I'm such a sop.

FAVOURITE WINTER NAIL POLISH
Don't have nails to wear nail polish! Oooops!

FAVOURITE WINTER LIP PRODUCT
My lips get sooooo dry in winter so I use a lot of lip balms, but other than that I love wintery lipsticks. Dark berry shades.

MOST WORN WINTER CLOTHING PIECE
Jumpers. I wear jeans ALL the time, so jumpers are so easy to wear with jeans! They also go well over dresses, and layering too.

MOST WORN WINTER ACCESSORY
I have one of those winter fur headbands that I LOVE. I got mine from a local winter fair about 3 years ago and I've worn it every winter since.

FAVOURITE WINTER SCENT OR CANDLE
I love all my yankee candles, so I wouldn't be able to say a specific wintery one..

FAVOURITE WINTER BEVERAGE
Oh my god, this year Costa have bought out the 'honeycomb hot chocolate'.. yeah, you'll thank me later!

ALL TIME FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS / HOLIDAY MOVIE
ELF ELF ELF ELF ELF ELF. Although I did used to love that film where the mum and her sons stay in a department store at Christmas because they have no money. Does anyone know what thats called?!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS / HOLIDAY SONG
Hmmm.. toughy.. I love Christmas songs, they make everyone so festive! Maybe The Progues. Mainly because me and my stepdad do a mean version on Karaoke!

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY FOOD / TREAT
I don't actually know! I don't have anything specific, and especially as I'm such a fussy eater (I have pizza on Christmas day..) I do, however LOVE the winter versions of Fondant Fancies!!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS DECORATION THIS YEAR
Nothing is up yet! But every year me and my brother get a new Christmas tree decoration.

WHAT’S AT THE TOP OF YOUR CHRISTMAS LIST?
I haven't really asked for much, just bits and bobs..

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE HOLIDAY THIS YEAR?
Going to my stepdads sisters house, then I suppose we'll eat and watch telly, then go and see my boyfriend!

I tag everyone!!

Hi guys! Long time so speak. I feel so awful for not posting as I had planned I was going to post AT LEAST once a day, but I completely forgot how busy Christmas time gets. I've got lots of overtime at work (today I did a whole day at college then straight to work until 9pm for late night shopping!). I'm constantly busy at the mo and it's never ending! But I promise I'll try harder to juggle everything. Anyway, this is my second week in iPhone photos!
Saturday

ootd #1 | daisydaisyxxo

Quick outfit post for you.. It's based on the actual outfit I'm wearing today, with a few changes!
Made with polyvore

Today I was wearing my Topshop Joni jeans, with a plain white Tshirt I got ages ago from Newlook. I wore my new(ish) Topshop tartan scarf and (cheat as I don't actually own..yet) Topshop boots, which I'm completely lusting over.. hurry up pay day!! Teamed with a necklace, this one is from Topshop.

I love this outfit! So casual and comfy but still looks good!

What have you done this weekend?

nail art | daisydaisyxxo

Something a little different for you..

ALL SOURCED FROM PINTEREST

I say different because I'm a nail biter. And when I say that, I don't mean I just bite a bit of my nail.. I'm talking right down till there's nothing left, bleeding kind of nail biter. I've tried so many times to stop but it just doesn't happen.
So the only time you'll EVER see a 'nail' related post is if I have acrylics (I like to treat myself now and again!) and I want to rave about them.

Even though I don't have nails myself, doesn't mean that I can't appreciate other peoples nail art. So here I've picked (from a VERY big bunch) some of my favourite nail arts. People are so very talented when it comes to things like this because I wouldn't have a clue.

One of my best friends Molly paints her nails near enough every day it seems and she LOVES it. I however just can't see the thrill. No I don't LIKE having no nails, but it's something I've always been used to since before I can remember. My mums the same!

Are you any good at nail art? Leave your nail art posts below and I'll check them out!

D x

I would love to get some of those nail wheels and try my hand at nail art, what do you think?!

week in iPhone photos #1 | daisydaisyxxo

I'm completely aware that these kinds of posts are defiantly marmite - love it or hate it. Some may want to know what my boring week has consisted of, others not so much. Some might even think 'why on earth would I want to know what's happened in your week?!' and as my weeks are very similar (doing very similar things, seeing very similar people).. Okay I'm on the verge of sounding like I haven't got a life. Onwards we go.

I did want the pictures to be in order to make sense, but the only photo collage app I have on my phone is very annoying, and I am writing this as fast as I can so I can go to sleep so forgive me for the bad collage. I'll try better next time.
Thursday
I took my brother swimming. This has become quite a common thing of recent weeks, mainly because my family are going away without me (boohoo) in 2 weeks and he's practicing using flippers, bless him!
Friday
When I started my blog I knew I wanted to feature a lot of my college work on it because a lot of students have blogs to showcase their work. I however don't want a whole separate blog for my work, too confusing. But maybe I'll do a full post on my course etc. would you like that?
Friday night
I went out for a meal with work, for a leaving do. A girl I'm very close with is moving to Australia for a year (JEL.com), so us Topshop/Topman gang all got together to say bye! I then went home, got into my onsie an watched Children in Need. Was lovely.
Sunday
Yeah I've skipped Saturday.. This was mainly because it was the first Saturday I've had off in.....months. So I did what any normal human being would on a Saturday without work.. NOTHING!
Monday
I got one of those innocent smoothie hats. I don't like the smoothies, just the hats.
Wednesday
Nothing happened Tuesday, skipped to Wednesday. Did more college work (our project at the moment is to create film posters, these are my first ideas for Captain America and Moon!)
Thursday
Random bruise on my leg, very painful, no memory of getting it.

And there we have it, a week in Daisy-life. I can't see these being a very regular feature on my blog, simply because as I said, my weeks are often the same..every..single..week....

What did you do this week?

Boots for her | daisydaisyxxo

So I know these are soooo common at the moment around the blogging world, but here is my gift guide for woman. Now let me just say, I have completely based these products around the lady's in my life (mum, nan, aunties), and they are all from Boots. I think the 3 for 2 that Boots do on Christmas gifts every year is amazing, and can really save you money!

1- candle tea cup £8
My nan would LOVE this. It's such a lovely idea and very simple concept, but with a gorgeous outcome.
2- ink pads £4.99
I thought these ink pads were so so sweet, if you're a letter writer or scrapbooker, these could add such a lovely little touch to anything!
3- juicy couture set, meant to be £60 but is £29.50 online LIMITED TIME!
This is simply amazing. The offer is only limited, and typically out of stock at the moment, but for over 50% off it's defiantly worth it for everything you get.
4- soap & glory set £16
My mum LOVES soap and glory and every Christmas they bring out loads of different sets. Mum, one of these is coming your way! ;-)
5- slippers £10
Slippers.. Simply.. Who doesn't love slippers? And how cosey do they look?!
6- bath cubes £4
I love these cute bath cubes, I'm a big fan of Lush but as I don't have a lush near me, any kind of bath cubes with a lush feel are amazing.
7- hair set £10
I got some Umberto Giannini products for Christmas a few years ago, and although I haven't repurchased any since, if I received them again, I would love it!

Overall, the 3 for 2 Boots gift deal is amazing and defiantly well worth it if you have a few presents to buy - I'm defiantly going to be!

What are your picks?

topshop top picks | daisydaisyxxo

Working in Topshop means I'm constantly drooling over new stock that I want, and simply cannot afford. These are my top picks for the moment.

Boots £45-
I'm not a bootys person, I always stick to wearing trainers because I know I'm safe with them. I recently bought a new pair of boots from Topshop but on reflection, I do sort of wish I had bought these ones instead. I never tried them on but I saw someone wearing them recently and they looked so lovely! On the Christmas list maybe? ;-)

Lips £8-
I'm yet to try the Topshop lipsticks, simply because I don't have £8 to spend on a lipstick, especially when you can't even try them (is this at my Topshop only or everywhere?!). I have however heard such good things about them, and apparently their made by Mac which is always a bonus.
I really really want a dark shade for winter months, and this Berry shade is perfect. I'm hoping to get this very soon.

Jumper £48-
This is a slight cheat as I already have this jumper, but oh my, isn't it just gorgeous?! I was instantly in love when I saw it and HAD to have it. It was slightly overpriced I will admit, but worth any penny :-)

T-shirt £45-
I actually saw a T-shirt similar to this on the Topshop website a few months ago, but it was £50. Although I thought this was so overpriced, I was still hoping to buy it if it ever come into my local store (mad?!) Fortunately (unfortunately) it never did, so I never got to get it. I still love it though. The quilted pleather is so on trend.

Jeans £38-
I only ever wear jeans, and when I spotted these Daisy print ones, I was in love. As my name is Daisy, when I was younger I was always dressed in things with Daisy's on them. The Topshop Leigh  jeans are my favourites, and put some Daisy's on them, I'm sold!!

Scarf £18-
The print on this scarf is gorgeous. It's the typical 'winter print' that you see on everything over winter, but so gorgeous. However, only judging by the picture, it looks like that horrible fabric that is ichy and uncomfortable. This puts me off slightly, but still, love it nonetheless.

These are my Topshop top picks, what are yours?!

small sainsburys haul | daisydaisyxxo

Okay okay, so I know that some of you would say that this isn't even worth a whole post about but I thought I'd just share with you a few things that I bought this evening!

SoHo SOAP Co | vanilla smoothie
I must be honest, this jumped out at me because of the lovely packaging! It also had a sign which I later found out I had infact misread - I thought this was £1 but it actually had £1 off. With this it was £1.99 which isn't actually that bad. I've just tried this out (should I admit I'm writing from the bath?!) and it's just like your regular bubble bath, although the smell wore off immediately which I was quite gutted about!
head & shoulders | shampoo & conditioner
Recently I've been really badly suffering with dandruff. This is a problem I've never had in my life, so I was a bit unsure how to go about it. I googled the reasons it could have come on suddenly, but each website had a different answer. I also googled home remedies but if I'm honest, when I was reading them I only thought they would be doing my hair worse than any good! I have never used head & shoulders except when I'm at my boyfriends with nothing else to use, so I wouldn't know how well it works with dandruff but I'm going to try it out tonight - I'll keep you posted!
vosene | dandruff shampoo
I picked this up before the head and shoulders and if I'm honest, I completely forgot in was in the shopping basket. As I just explained, I was looking for a dandruff shampoo and the fact it says 'works from 1st use' jumped out at me. I'm going to be washing my hair soon but I'm at a loss which to try first!
Aussie | 3 minute miracle
So finally, this was just a re-purchase! I swear by this product and I've re-bought several times now. Although with the flakey situation I think I'll put using it on pause!
Do you have any dandruff remedies? Leave me a comment!
Thanks for reading!

daisydaisyxxo | beauty essentials

I love reading peoples beauty essentials. I think mostly because I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to makeup so I love drooling over peoples expensive things, wishing I could afford to spend my money on makeup (which I cannot, AT ALL.) So here are my beauty essentials-

Ted Baker Makeup Bag
Well, what can I say about my makeup bag?! Not a lot! I picked up my ted baker cosmetics case from boots kind of on a whim. I don't splash out on purses and things like that, simply because I don't feel the need. After receiving the most gorgeous ted baker purse for my 17th birthday from my mum, priced at a whopping £75 I was obviously very grateful but also knew that the purse would probably be my only item of ted baker (except for my body spray) I would ever own, so you can imagine my excitement when I popped into my local boots and the makeup bag I saw was under £15! I was actually amazed. I stood there trying to figure out why it was so cheap, but I didn't want to ponder for too long incase it was too good to be true so I snapped it up! I have only used this one ever since.
Johnson's makeup wipes
These have been a must have for me ever since I started to steal them from my mum when I first started wearing makeup. I've tried many different facial and water-based makeup removers but I always come back to these. They are quite expensive (as I said, cheap skate!) but I normally try to sneak them in mums shopping basket. ;-) I would truly swear by these, they are the only wipe that I find can take off my many layers of mascara.
Ted Baker body spray
I always try to have a body spray in my bag/on the shelve just because they're so useful to freshen yourself up whenever you need to. If you've forgotten to wear perfume that day, or don't like wearing perfume body sprays are amazing. I think pretty much every body spray I've ever smelt has always had a lush smell, but my go-to scent at the moment is this Ted Baker butterfly one.
Olay Essentials- touch of foundation
My boyfriends mum actually introduced me to this. I've never been a foundation lover, purely because I think all foundations I've tried have been too thick on my skin, and also as I don't have the worst skin going (occasional spot now and again!!) I don't really NEED a foundation as such. So when certain brands started bringing out things such as BB creams and tinted moisturiser, I was bang on it! Truth be told, this is the only one I've properly tried so far, but it's around £10 (I bought it half price - £10?!) and has lasted me such a long time. 3-4 months +! Mine is VERY nearly out, and when it does run out I'm defiantly going to try another tinted moisturiser/BB cream. Is there any you'd recommend?
Natural Collection; eyeshadow duo (for eyebrows), bronzer & loose powder
I'm grouping all the natural collection products in one because I have a feeling this post could become verrrryyy long!! I guess the only reason I even looked at the natural collection stuff is because its CHEAP!! Everything is under £2 which is so cheap and even if it isn't the best quality, its £2 so who cares!? I use one of duo eyeshadow for my eyebrows, just because I have tried pencils before and as I have full and thick eyebrows, I only use this to fill them in slightly. The loose powder was another product bought on a whim. I had before used an Avon loose powder that I loved but it came to a point where I just KNEW i needed to get another one, and finally gave in. I'm pleased I bought this loose powder and would defiantly re-buy when I've run out. Then the bronzer.. Well.. this was a bit of a random buy! I have naturally dark skin tones and I never really got on well with bronzers. Why, I don't know. But recently I've dabbled a little bit more into the bronzer world, and although I don't use it EVERY day, I would say its an essential because it's always great to have. I know a lot of people are bronzer or blusher, and I'm certainly bronzer.
NYC high definition mascara
I'm defiantly seeing a pattern appearing.. Why did I buy this mascara?! Because it was cheap (ha ha ha ha). But on a serious note, YES I did buy this mascara because it was cheap (around £3), but I'm sooooo glad I did because it has become my ALL TIME favourite mascara. I have re-bought this 5 or 6 times! I also love this because I wear soooo much mascara, if I did buy an expensive one, I would be spending A LOT of money!!
Simple kind to skin
I guess this is just in here because I always moisturise my face before putting on my tinted moisturiser, because I feel it goes on a lot better. The only reason its THIS brand is because it's the one im using at the moment. I do use other brands too.
Tresemme hairspray
This is another 'this is just here because..' I always carry a hairspray in my bag because I have loads of loose hairs that aren't the same length as my hair, so a strong hold hairspray is just a must have.\
So, there we have it! My beauty essentials! I just want to put it out there I'm NO beauty guru, and I REALLY don't think I am. These are my honest opinions of these products and I definatly don't have the first clue about makeup! (Maybe I shouldn't admit that so honestly in my second post!) Hey-ho!
Hope you've enjoyed this post. What are your beauty essentials?

daisydaisyxxo | about me

So as this is my first post on my new blog, I thought I could only do the 'about me' tag so you can all get to know me.
I have stole these questions from www.beautyreviewsandthings.wordpress.com - make sure you check out her blog!
1.Do you have a middle name? Beatrice - don't laugh :-(
2. What was your favourite subject in school? My favourite subject was always textiles, however I was naturally better at media.
3. What’s your favourite drink? Errrm, this is a tough one! I don't really drink a lot, so I'd have to say either blackcurrent squash (boring I know but I drink so much!!) or fanta fruit twist.
4. Favourite song at the moment? I'm absoloutely loving Arctic Monkeys new album, and my favourite song from it is 'Why'd you only call me when you're high?'                                                                                                                                                                                            5. What would you name your children? Considering how much I want children, its a surprise I've never really thought about it! I suppose I'd like something a bit different though, not one of the common names that you get everywhere.
 6. Do you participate in any sports? Ha! Is this a trick question?! I'm the most unfittest person you'll ever meet.
7. Favourite Book? I can't say I read, unless magazines count!
8. Favourite Colour? I don't really know.. I wear a lot of black, and I wouldn't say I have a favourite colour. I do like all things pastel though.
9. Favourite Animal? A penguin! I actually cannot stand animals, but penguins are so sweet to look at!
10. Favourite perfume? Probably would have to be the typical Lady Million, although I have hundreds!
11. Favourite holiday? I've been to nearly all of the cannary islands - I wouldnt say their amazing, but their very hot and anywhere hot gets a vote from me!
12. Have you graduated High School? Yes. I left school last year, and I'm now in my second year of Graphics at college.
13. Have you been out of the Country? I have been to loads of places which I'm very thankful for!
14. Do you speak any other Languages? Not at all. I hated French at school and always messed around - I even question my ability to speak English sometimes!
15. Do you have any siblings? I have one younger half brother who is my absolute world.
16. What’s your favourite store? I work in Topshop, so I mainly buy my clothes from there, although I love Primark (obvs!!) however the closest one to me is about 30 miles away. :-(
17. Favourite Restaurant? I would always say Frankie & Benny's through and through, although recently I went to Prezzo for my birthday and it was LUSH!
18. Did you like school? I was a typical person who couldn't wait to leave school, but looking back now I actually had such a good year in my last year and reaaallyyy miss it!
19. Favourite YouTubers? I watch thousands! I have done for years too. A few favourites would be Grace from UglyFaceOfBeauty, Zoe from zoella280390, Becca from voussontbeauetbelle, Kate from Dollybowbow, I have watched several of these since the beginning!
20. Favourite Movie? I HATE films. Everyone calls me crazy but I just hate watching them! Their so time consuming and I just can think of better things to do with my time! Sorry!!
21. Favourite Tv show? I'm a soaps and reality tv show fan!
22. Pc or Mac? Mac, only because thats all I've ever known.. We've always had macs since I can remember!
23. What phone do you have? I recently upgraded to a Nokia Lumia 820 but I got my iPhone 4 back after a week! Oops!
24. How tall are you? No idea! I'm very short though, so I'd have to guess 5'5 AT A RANDOM GUESS!
