Motives Cosmetics

 Motives Cosmetics

Motives cosmetics was a new brand introduced to me when I recently received an email asking if I wanted to try some products out. Never one to turn down the chance to try a new brand, of course I eagerly said yes and awaited my parcel to come. I had no idea what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. The makeup market is now so huge with new brands coming out what seems like every day it takes a lot to impress a beauty blogger. In case you don’t have a clue what Motives Cosmetics is about like I didn’t, they are very similar to the likes of Avon whereby representatives sell you products through hosting parties.

I was contacted by Andreea who offered to send me two lipsticks and a blusher. She is a rep that runs her own website through the Motives Cosmetics brand. A self proclaimed lipstick hoarder, I love getting new lipsticks to play with. With probably millions of varieties out there, I have tried a lot of tones and shades and probably worn some that don’t suit me at all. Only recently getting into using blusher in the past year or so, I am slowly starting to build up a collection of them to give a small army but I always enjoy trying new one.

I was sent 2 lipsticks (the pink one is called Magenta but I cannot for the life of me remember the same of the other one!! I will update this soon!). Although the picture is making them look quite a bit brighter than what they really are, they are really lovely colours. Glide on with no trouble at all and are so pigmented its mad. Magenta has really cool undertones and is almost iridescent which is gorgeous and for a non-bright pink lipstick wearer, this one is actually very wearable and a welcome newbie to my lippy collection. The second (currently un-named) lipstick is a bright coral colour which is definitely more on a 'me' colour. The picture makes it look like a florescent orange colour but in real life its much more toned down. I wore this recently on Twitter and everyone went mad for it wanting to know where it was from so here you go - you now know! For £12, I probably wouldn't rush out to buy every one of these because I am underpaid and wouldn't be able to afford it. BUT nevertheless they are really really nice lipsticks and 100% give high end brands a run for their money!

Motives Blusher- £10 each*
Before I tell you about the actual blusher, the packaging is just brilliant. This is literally the perfect size to pop in your handbag when you are just packing essentials. It's not too small that you cant use it, but it's just a perfect size to carry around with you nicely. NOW on to the actual product.. well, just like the lipsticks I am so impressed. What I love about this blusher is that it isn't actually stupidly pink, its a nice colour that is very buildable. It's similar to Sleek - Rose Gold which is my all time favourite blusher. Motives blusher has actually become my every day blush and I apply it with the Real Techniques blush brush, very lightly and then build it if I want more of a deep colour.

I am so impressed by this brand. I am always skeptical of brands like this because sometimes reputations can be bad (pushy sellers etc) but Andreea was such a delight to work with and I will defo be trying out some more of their products in the near future.

The absoloutely lovely Andreea has kindly offered a code to all my readers! 10% off by using 10OFFMA

Yves Rocher Summer Ready Hair

You may have recently seen that I worked with Yves Rocher on a smokey eye makeup look (if you missed that you can find it here). I was super impressed with everything I tried and over the moon when Holly asked if I wanted to try some hair care bits. I've mentioned it loads of times on my blog now but I really do not take care of my hair at all. I know I should try a lot harder than I do but I'm just lazy, there isn't much more I can say about the matter so I was excited to get using these.

I really wanted to save this until last as it is by far my favourite product out of all these but I didn't want to go against the order of the photo (ha ha ha!) but this product is just indescribable. I have never, ever heard of anything like this for your hair. Why on earth would you want to put vinegar on your hair?! It literally made no sense. Then I smelt it. And uh. If you follow me on Twitter or have liked my Facebook page you would have probably seen me writing about this on there because this thing is just insane. I cant even describe it! The smell is incredible. After smelling this all day on the day I got it, I had to make raspberry jelly later that night. I've never smelt any kind of hair product like this, it smells so good I could honestly eat it. I recently went blonder and have been using Touch Of Silver shampoo and although the shampoo is amazing and does a great job, it leaves my hair dryer than dry. I have been using this afterwards and not only does it leave my hair smelling lushious, it 100% leaves it very shiny. I will definately be repurchasing this once I've used it all up.

I'm such a sucker for a 2 in 1 product and this hair and body wash is exactly that. The idea that you don't have to take two separate products excites me. Yup, I am lazy I'll admit. This product has a smell that I just cannot put my finger on and honestly, I've sat smelling it for ages and I still cant work it out. I want to say play-dough but I know it isn't that, I just cant work out what it is! I have been using this daily and it's a really nice body wash. It lathers really well and the scent does stay on your body too. A super body wash for the price and again, I think I shall be repurchasing again!

If I'm being honest I haven't actually put this on my hair yet as I was worried about it. As I'm blonde, I was so scared that it would tinge my hair as its slightly orange BUT I have been using it on my body (I'm not even sure if it's for the body?!) and it is such a lovely product. I can imagine applying this on my legs and arms when wearing a summer dress as it adds a really lovely glow and has tiny glitter particles in it too which reflect in the sun. It has the same scent as the body wash which is lovely and again, lingers on the skin.

This shampoo is a non-lathering shampoo and contains no sulfates or parabans and is silicone and colorant free. It is inspired by the 'no shampoo shampoo' hair regime that came from America. Although I do like my shampoos to foam so that I feel they are actually working, I do really like this one (and I am usually very fussy about shampoos!). It's a really thick consistency, much like a hand or body cream which feels wrong putting it in your hair. You start at the roots and work down, however I tend to use waaaay too much product because I don't feel like I've covered it all!

Again I am very impressed by Yves Rocher! This brand is hitting the beauty blogging world by a storm and I am a huge fan! Have you tried anything from the brand?

The Bestest Week Ever

Sorry for the huge photo spam on this post, I just really wanted to share some photos of my past week with you all. A lot of close blogger friends and family read my blog and although I have many of them on Facebook, I have said for months now how I want to start sharing more personal things on here so here we go. Last week was a huge week for me, my boyfriend came home. As the people I want to know, know where Kayne was I wont go into it but it was massive for us all so I had the week off to celebrate and that's exactly what we did.

Tuesday we had a BBQ at a friends house, and the weather was so lovely. We also played beer pong (with beer and wine) which was so much fun although it takes such more time than you would think. I'm pretty sure I had sobered up by the time someone managed to pot a ball! Wednesday we spent the day seeing friends and Kayne met Laila-Mae, our best friends baby who is just over 2 months old. It was so cute. Wednesday evening we had a game on monopoly that I lost and nearly cried when I got out. BOOHOO.

Thursday we spent the day cleaning (FUN) and then stayed at my house in the evening. We never stay at mine so it was nice to relax in my own home. Friday we popped into town, Kayne got his eyebrows threaded (don't even ask!!!) and we had a monopoly rematch which again, I lost. Surprise surprise!

Saturday we went to Stratford Westfield which was bloody amazing! I only bought a bubble bar from Lush as I didnt have any money to spend. Kayne spent tonnes though, and I will go back there again! Saturday night we had a welcome home party which was so amazing. So many family and friends came, it was so so lovely. The pictures are of me & Kayne, and then me with one of my best friend Danii. We had a really really good night, thank you to everyone that came!

Finally on Sunday, I was surprisingly hang over free so we spent the day lounging. If you remember, Kayne and I got a dog last year and whiles he was away, my very kind grandparents took Bailey as she couldn't stay at Kayne's on her own. We took her to Felixstowe for the day (a huge dive, it gets worse every time I go!) and showed off our new trainers (they are both Huaraches, in case you're wondering) which are little & large!

I had the bestest best week and I'm so sad to be back at work but hey, only a few more days before bank holiday weekend and the week after we are going to Centre Parcs! Would you like to see a lifestlye-type post about that? Let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this kind of different post, please let me know if you want to see more (and if you want to see less haha). xx

Sunday Skincare

Pretty much everyone and their dog is aware of my non existent skin care routine. When I say non existent, I literally mean nothing. Nada. The only kind of 'routine' I have is when I take my makeup off with wipes (yup, you can all shout at me!) and any goodness/badness that are in the wipes. The truth is, I've never needed any skincare. I don't feel I'm bragging when I say that up until about 8 months ago I had pretty much perfect skin. I like to blame my newly found bad skin on stress that I've had but realistically, its all aspects of my life (diet, skin care, stress etc). Anyway, I'm blabbing.

When I went to the #nyLDNmeet which I wrote about here, I was introduced to MooGoo skin care. We were all allowed to select a product that best suited our skin and I embarrassingly explained to them about my non-skin care routine and they suggested I start off using a general moisturiser so I can get used to putting things onto my face. Since this arrived I honestly think I've used it pretty much every day. I absolutely hate the smell as I think it smells a bit like gone off milk (I have no idea why!!) but its a smell you get used to if you use it a lot.

Another thing I've loved doing is mixing the moisturiser with my foundation. I think I've made it no secret on here that I prefer to use BB creams, purely because thats what I'm used to using. Now my skin has got worse, BB creams aren't cutting it as much but I still don't like a really full coverage foundation so mixing this with my 'fuller' coverage foundation really helps. I've been doing this every time I wear foundation recently. Have I seen results? Although not very noticeable results spot wise, it has been making my skin a lot more hydrated and generally just feels a lot nicer. I will carry on using it and I would definitely recommend it if your looking for a new moisturiser.

As I mentioned I take my makeup off with wipes I KNOW I AM SO NAUGHTY!! so when I received this cleanser I made much more of a conscious effort to use it daily. I'm still not 100% used to using it (to you good beauty bloggers out there, how do you stop product from going in your eyes?! It's proving near impossible!!) and the fact I get it in my eyes every time does kind of put me off using it, although this is a personal #BeingABadBlogger issue and not the product itself.

The smell is again, a smell you have to get used to. It's very herbal smelling (I am probably completely wrong, I have the senses of a jellyfish) which is quite strong and honestly doesn't smell like anything I've ever smelt before. It's not a smell I would like to smell all the time but for the sake of taking my makeup off in a better way, I will do it. I really like the style of the bottle. It's glass with a really long and sturdy pump. As packaging goes, its a huge winner winner chicken dinner for me! Have I seen results? Again, not much spot wise but I feel like I get much more makeup off my face when I use this. I just wish I could work out how to use it without getting it in my poor eyes every time!!! Other then that it's very good at its job. I probably wouldn't repurchase it again, at over £20 that cheapskate in me says its way too much and I would class it as a 'higher end' product. Especially as I'm not keen on the smell, I know there are products out there with nicer smells and probably do an equally good job. I will use this one up first though!

What is your skincare routine like? Have you got any recommendations for me?

NEW IN | Kiss Cosmetics

Generally speaking you have probably never heard of Kiss Cosmetics (and no, hearing about them in the past few days doesn't count!). I hadn't until a few months ago when I and a selected few others were invited to a secret Facebook group for the company. In this group, Kiss Cosmetics asked us, bloggers as consumers everything from packaging ideas to colours of products. This is a brand that has pretty much been partly created by bloggers which makes me love it even more.

The KISSstick is the first of the line of products, launching on the 22nd April (less than a weeks time!) with other products being released at later dates. There are 10 shades in total, some have already been revealed but I think some are being kept a secret until launch day so head over to their social media to find out! I was sent Frisky Fuchsia* (RRP £7.00) which is a hot pink colour. Although I do actually own a lot of pink lipsticks, I rarely wear pink and I'm not sure why.

I'm not 100% what I expected from the brand. I wasn't sure if they were going to be the next Makeup Rev or simply bring out products that could just flop. I'm super pleased to tell you it's more the first. I actually can't believe how pigmented the lipstick is and as it's been sitting on my office desk, when I've been going to work with makeup and no lippy I've been applying this all the time. My social media loved it and in one picture when I didn't even mention the lipstick, I was complimented on it.

I kid you not, the swatch in the picture above is genuinely one firm swipe. Yup, it really is that good. The packaging is sturdy and reminds me a lot of the Makeup Rev & MUA lipsticks. But hey, ultimately its a bit of black plastic to store a lipstick in and it does the job absolutely perfectly. Now I just need to find a liner to match this gorgeous colour as bold lips always smear on my face and I need a liner to keep them in place. There is no doubt in my mind, Kiss Cosmetics are going to blow up. You heard it here first!

Montagne Jeunesse Facemasks

When my email pinged and I saw that it was about reviewing some Montagne Jeunesse face masks I did have to take a double look. I noticed the name, but I wasn't sure. After a bit of Google research, I was right. Montagne Jeunesse were the same face masks that I have used since before I literally can even remember. I used to take these masks to sleep overs when I was about 10! I was so pleasantly surprised, if I'm honest I wasn't even sure that the brand were still going!

A few days later I had some of the masks I knew only to well come through the post. I used one (Tea Tree Face Spa) the same day. I'm not sure why but I was drawn to this one. I think it's because it had Tea Tree in the name and we all know I'm a huge fan of tea tree based products. The actual mask itself was strange. It wasn't like a sticky, gooey mess that you had to some how apply to your face trying not to get it all in your hair and on your clothes, nothing like that. The only way I can describe it is that it was a piece of fabric with eye, nose and mouth holes cut out completely soaked in a liquid. It wasn't runny, the mask had soaked it all in. I don't think I've ever used a face mask like this before so I was intrigued.

I laid on my bed with the mask on. The only way to keep it on your face was by laying down, it would seem. This didn't matter though as it was quite relaxing. It was really cold too, which I wasn't expecting. Then again, it is a tee tree based product and tee tree always have a nice cooling effect. I think I laid with it on for about 15 minutes which was a perfect excuse for a lay day, y'know 'for blog purposes', of course

I rarely see results with face masks, the only one I can get along well with is the Boots own brand tee tree peel off mask. The next day I woke up with a few huge, sore spots. For me, that means its worked. That means its pulled all the bad things out of my skin and that is a job done well.

I have since used the two others and I've even gone out to Superdrug to buy more (sometimes even less than £1 you really cannot go wrong!). I am loving these and I'm so so glad I've been re-introduced to my childhood pamper sessions at friends houses. It's very nostalgic which is so nice.

Do you remember Montagne Jeunesse face masks? Have you used them recently?

THE TRUTH...

If you've been keeping up with the Twitter drama over the past day or so, not only do I applaud you but I also pity you for having to read it. I felt like I had to write something on here because I wasn't able to get my opinion/voice across on Twitter because now SO many people are involved and making it so much worse, plus 140 letters really isn't enough to explain such a huge situation like this. I really really REALLY did not want to write a whole blog post and actually spend my valuable time writing this when I really do have so much more I need to be getting on with but to save the tweets, messages and emails this post will clear everything up (I hope).

I have seen a certain name appear on my feeds and private chats for the longest time. Lies after lies after lies, lots of people sniggering behind backs and indirect tweeting (because hey, who is ever up front in the blogging world??). I'm not even going to go into the lies because my whole post would be taken up by them but lets just say there are a lot. One of the latest was a (personal) holiday to LA.

I knew this wasn't true and I was so fed up with everything that was being said so I will admit, I did set out to prove that it was a lie. I tried to find out via Twitter, and I found nothing. I then moved to Facebook and made the decision to add her personally. I still couldn't find anything and I really couldn't be bothered to listen to the lies that were being spurted so without warning I blocked her. I also blocked her on Twitter because I couldn't be bothered with it all. I couldn't see how I could prove that she was lying, so I just blocked it all out. I had decided to completely leave it until a few hours later, a close friend sent me a picture. Somebody they knew had reverse searched a 'personal photo' from her Twitter that she had posted of her 'holiday' and it came up as some mans Twitter account and it turned out he had posted the photo over a week ago. She had stole the photo. I retweeted the photo in question tagging her in saying 'I think someone has stolen your photo!'. She was quick to deny it, and even quicker to block me. This is when several others jumped in and was tweeting about it. Completely and utterly unbeknown to me they had noticed all these dodgy goings on too.

Now I will just say, although maybe a little outspoken, I definitely do not set out to 'ruin' anyones life. Of course not. I only set out to put a stop to this compulsive lying that I have been seeing go on for the longest time and apparently a lot of others are sick to death of it too. The difference is, I have a backbone and if you do follow me on Twitter you will know I often have little spats with people because of my opinions. That is just me, that's what I'm like. You either love it or you hate it. A lot has been said/uncovered/found out over the past day or so. And actually, a lot of it had nothing to do with me I just happened to be at the centre of it. I purposely kept as quiet as I could because I couldn't be bothered with it all. I've been in enough Twitter arguments to last me literally a life time. It's pointless and pathetic.

This whole thing has escalated like you wouldn't believe. It has literally broken my Twitter (55K impressions today and still rising...). People with literally no idea are trying to get involved, people I've never even heard of are also trying to get involved. I felt like I had to speak out because I'm at the centre of it all and now so many people are talking about it, it's crazy. Biggest thing to happen in the Blogger world since the whole GG Scandal!

I'm guessing a lot of people know about this trip abroad that has been arranged. I am just going to publicly say right now not once did I mentioned this trip and I have no idea why my name is being dragged in to personal chats that I am trying to ruin lives, ruin (illegal) business', making up I'm best friends with people I've spoken to once or twice. It's all utter rubbish. I just want to urge ANYONE who was thinking of handing over money to someone you don't know with so many lies surrounding a person, DON'T DO IT. A lot of people have been reading and following whats been going on, and I'm still getting messages saying 'I'm still not sure about it all'. WHY would anybody still believe a word that comes out of her mouth?! It's been proven SO many times that she is a lier. Through and through. Do not hand over any money.

I have probably missed so much stuff and if you think I need to update/include anything else please please please let me know. I'm not sure how long this post will stay up for and I probably will delete it at some point but for now, I hope you enjoyed reading and if you honestly have got this far you deserve a large medal. Or a glass of wine. Like I think I deserve. If I have saved even just one person by making a scene on Twitter then I think its all been worth it. Over and out!

#eBayFinds 2

Missguided Oversized Shirt £5 | Boohoo.com Jersey Smock Dress 0.99p

Finally I am getting round to writing the second #eBayFinds post! I know, I have been so slack. I had planned to make these weekly but life happened. Never fear, I am scheduling the next few weeks so they will always be up on time. If you missed my first post you can find it here

I know in the last post I said they were my two favourites but actually I think I was wrong (and I also think I'll probably change my mind in every single post.. dahhh..).

Missguided Oversized Flower Shirt, worn. Price: £5 Delivery: £3.20
This Missguided shirt is so nice, I love it so much. I actually wore it on a night out with a waist belt and black jeans. You can find a picture on my Twitter. I think it actually looked really nice and I was so pleased. It is HUGE but I don't think that's a bad thing at all. You could wear it with jeans or you could also wear it as a dress (or with shorts!) if you were brave enough.

Boohoo.com Jersey Smock Dress, worn. Price: £0.99 Delivery: £2.80
This little gem was an absolute steal. Under £4 for it, I couldn't say no! I did think that it would have been bidder higher than it was but nope, I won it at 99p. I think you could wear this any way you wanted. Heels to dress it up, or (my personal favourite) with converse and a huge necklace. Yup, I did just say converse because we all know my trainer/dress combo faves.

I hope you enjoyed my second #eBayFinds, I will just warn you I have so many of these posts coming up so please be wear haha. If you have any #eBayFinds please tweet me at @daisydaisyxxo!

Yves Rocher Makeup | Smokey Eye Look

Is it bad I had never tried Yves Rocher makeup until an email appeared in my inbox recently offering me to try some bits? My nan knew exactly who they were. Maybe a generation thing? I haven't got a clue. But I'm pleased to tell you I'm a huuuuge fan. I was sent all the perfect things to make a nice smokey eye look which is exactly what I did.

Firstly I received the Fixing Eyelid Primer £7.50*. A tiny bit of this goes such a long way and the tube would definitely last you the longest time! I always use a eye primer so I can't say I've noticed the biggest lot of difference, its similar to my others.

Secondly I received the Quad Eyeshadow Palette £12.50* in brown. The quad contained 2 shimmers and 2 matte colours, with 2 of the horrible eyeshadow brushes that all beauty bloggers hate (including me!). I wasn't sure what to expect as I try an awful lot of eyeshadow palettes and as you all know I have my serious favourites. But guess what? It's bloody fab. Yup, amazing. Surprisingly good.

I also received Intense Kajal 100% liner £9.95* which is a kohl liner. I found it stupidly easy to use and blend, and the shape of the packaging/product is really cool too.

On to the piece de resistance, the Vertige Volume Mascara £11.50*. Well, we all know what a mascara snob I am. You might have seen on my social media recently that I tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara (new fave) which I LOVE and I was sure nothing could beat it. This mascara doesn't beat it, but it does match it which is a very hard job. If your ever on the hunt for a new mascara and your stuck in a rut of which to try, I would 150% recommend this one.

In the pictures above I have shown you my look that I did using all these products, as well as just the mascara on its own so that you can see what it looks like. I'm sure you'll agree it looks good, no? I also really loved all the packaging for all the products. They were clean, chic and simple but worked amazingly. They do the job and are very pleasing to the eye!

Have you ever tried Yves Rocher? What was your favourite bits?
